QC Chemist (Technical Manager Designate) required on a permanent basis, based in Merseyside. Requiring proven industrial experience of wet chemistry analysis, HPLC and/or GC-MS. Experience of man/team management is also desirable but not essential.

SRG are working with a leading manufacturer and supplier of flavours and colours across the food and beverage sectors. They are currently looking for a QC Chemist who are looking to widen their experience into aspects of technical management. This is a permanent role based at their site in Merseyside. This role will predominantly involve supporting in analysis using a number of analytical techniques, potentially managing and mentoring other team members, as well as participating and leading in technical documentation control.

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

Role / Description

  • Support in analysing raw materials, in-process samples and finished products using a range of analysis (wet chemistry, HPLC and GC-MS)
  • Supporting in method validation for a range of analytical methods
  • Providing support, training and mentorship to other team members
  • Supporting in performance reviews of other team members
  • Regularly reviewing SOPs
  • Support and drive continuous improvement within Quality Control (QC)
  • Support and deputise for Head of Technical and other roles, when required
  • Support and occasionally lead investigations
  • Create & review of Finish Product Specifications
  • Improve and review all types of documents which form part of the Quality Management system (QMS)
  • Participate in the release or rejection of non-conforming products

Requirements

  • A degree in Chemistry (or similar)
  • Proven industrial experience of analysing raw materials, in-process samples and finished products using a range of analysis
    • Wet Chemistry analysis, HPLC and/or GC-MS
  • Experience of leadership or management is desirable but not essential
  • Eagerness and enthusiasm to learn
