Education required: To apply for this placement, you must be:
Currently studying a Bachelor's, Integrated Master's or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Molecular Biology or a related Life Science discipline, or Computer Science (with a life sciences application focus).
Other requirements: You must have completed a minimum of two years of your Undergraduate degree.
You must be enrolled at a UK (United Kingdom) or ROI (Republic of Ireland) university for the duration of your placement.
Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English
Expected Start date: June/July

Overview of the department:
The Onyx Research Data Platform organization represents a major investment by GSK R&D and Digital & Tech, designed to deliver a step-change in our ability to leverage data, knowledge, and prediction to find new medicines.
We are a full-stack shop consisting of product and portfolio leadership, data engineering, infrastructure and DevOps, data / metadata / knowledge platforms, and AI/ML and analysis platforms, all geared toward:
- Building a next-generation, metadata- and automation-driven data experience for GSK's scientists, engineers, and decision-makers, increasing productivity and reducing time spent on "data mechanics".
- Providing best-in-class AI/ML and data analysis environments to accelerate our predictive capabilities and attract top-tier talents.
- Aggressively engineering our data at scale, as one unified asset, to unlock the value of our unique collection of data and predictions in real-time.
Onyx Product Management is at the heart of our mission, ensuring that everything from our infrastructure, to platforms, to end-user-facing data assets and environments is designed to maximize our impact on R&D. The Product Management team partners with R&D stakeholders and Onyx leadership to develop a strategic roadmap for all customer-facing aspects of Onyx, including data assets, ontology, Knowledge Graph / semantic search, data/computing/analysis platforms, and multi-omics applications.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to contribute to the product strategy for our Omics Products. You will work close with product managers and R&D stakeholders in defining and prioritizing features for the product. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Research Technology, to understand customer needs and contribute to the development of solutions. You will support product development initiatives by participating in sprint planning and user story creation. You will also learn about product launch activities and how we track and analyze product performance metrics. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to learn about the full product lifecycle within a cutting-edge multi-omics environment, focusing on meeting the needs of internal GSK customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in customer research initiatives, gathering insights and understanding emerging customer needs.
- Gain experience working in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning and product demos.
- Work alongside R&D, Engineering, and other teams to ensure seamless product development and launch.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of product launches, including developing supporting materials. Develop and maintain product documentation, including user guides, tutorials, and FAQs.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define product requirements, features, and specifications.
