Job Title: Interim Communications lead

Location: Broughton

Contract: 6 months/Hybrid (60% onsite minimum)

Hours: 35 hours per week

Rates: £30.22 per hour

Job Description

SRG are looking for a communications lead for a leading aerospace manufacturer based in Broughton. The company is in the process of acquiring the trade and assets of a key supplier in Belfast. A new company will be established for this purpose.

The Interim Communications Lead will work closely with the project team, wider company Communications team and the leaders of the new company to support all communication-related matters relating to the acquisition of the site in Belfast. This will include shaping and delivering a communications plan to support the M&A process and "onboard" the new company into the wider.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plays a key role in the establishment of Communications "set up" and outputs for the new company in Belfast, bringing local needs into alignment with current communications approach in the UK as appropriate.
  • Supports the creation of interim and long term internal communications tools and channels to support the onboarding of colleagues
  • Works with the project team to define and deliver key messaging and communications materials during the transition phase
  • Interacts with wider UK and global communications team - and the public affairs team - to manage consistent messaging to external audiences

Personal qualities and competencies:

  • Established experience in communications (internal, external, community relations)
  • Experience of M&A comms environment, transformation and change
  • Good understanding of the company structure, its products and the environment in the UK
  • Good understanding of Northern Ireland as an operating environment
  • Comms plan definition and execution
  • Strategic thinking while able to act and implement quickly
  • Ability to connect easily to different stakeholders across functions and divisions
  • Excellent writing skills and content creation skills
  • Event management capability
  • Understanding of local UK media and ability to engage effectively with them
  • Understanding of community relations and ability to engage effectively with a wide range of neighbours
  • Understanding of internal communications channels and ability to effectively engage with colleagues from across the business
