Empowering Your Business and People with Synergy Scientific Services

Synergy's Scientific Functional Service Provision (FSP) delivers in accordance with a robust governance framework, supported by our team of dedicated, expert Account Managers who understand and manage each workflow, whilst allowing for transparent decision-making, accountability and risk management.

And, throughout this collaborative journey, visibility and control is maintained through weekly and monthly operational meetings and quarterly business reviews – with each tailored to provide key updates, identify and react to any issues, risks and escalations, highlight process efficiencies made through our ongoing Continuous Improvement programme, and ensure consistent, high-quality strategic science service delivery.

Synergy teams are fully integrated into your business, embracing our core values and culture as well as your own. Most staff are on permanent contracts, and on a training and development pathway with regular cross-training and upskilling to remain agile.

Thanks to the agility of our people, and our tailored Laboratory Services, we can quickly redeploy our teams into new projects with reduced downtime and continued focus on delivering precise outcomes.

As operational experts with extensive scientific knowledge and experience of delivering results within highly regulated environments, the Synergy Management Team is integral to driving productivity and capability.

As the employer of our Synergy teams, we are responsible for all aspects of people management including:

•    End-to-end recruitment and onboarding
•    Training and development
•    Performance management
•    Mentoring and coaching
•    Scheduling and absence cover
•    Wellbeing support

Meanwhile, regular team communication and Reward and Recognition schemes promote staff satisfaction and improve retention levels.

All Synergy staff undergo in-depth Continuous Improvement training, including Yellow and Green Belt certification opportunities, to ensure they are always ready and prepared for any future developments, challenges and requests.

Our CI training, led by our in-house expert, enables and promotes full engagement with process improvement activities, and is key in the identification and implementation of efficiencies and improved ways of working.

We value people. No matter their background, or their career expectations. That’s why we provide the training, support, and development tools – including individual coaching, mentoring, and career advice – to build careers and the future of STEM.

Our people have opportunities to grow, whether it’s in during an apprenticeship, obtaining skills and qualifications whilst learning within our team, on a journey to becoming a STEM Ambassador – experienced experts who can inspire the next generation – or somewhere in between.

At Synergy, we understand that each business faces unique challenges. So, we invest time in understanding your business, culture, values, challenges, and strategic goals, to enable us to tailor our solutions for a cost-effective partnership.

As Functional Service Providers, our solutions provide clear deliverables, ensuring confidence in project outcomes, whilst a fixed fee structure offers full cost transparency upfront, eliminating the worry of additional charges. We optimise space, equipment, processes, and resources to identify cost savings and efficiencies. The Synergy approach also provides scalability and flexibility, adapting to the changing needs of a project and reducing risk.

Partnering with us allows you to focus on core operations, reducing labour costs and boosting profitability. Our model saves on recruitment costs by using our teams, while also minimising your management and training burdens.

FAQ's

Very simply, a Statement of Works is a contract that captures the details of the services that we will deliver. As a Scientific Functional Services Provider, we are not just providing a headcount. Details will include pre-agreed costs, all deliverables, and any KPIs that will be used to measure success. By providing meaningful metrics and strategic weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting, we provide you with tangible data and insights on our team’s performance. We focus on establishing the right framework at the start of any project to ensure our customers’ expectations are clear.

Functional Service Provision (FSP) refers to a service model in which Synergy provides specialist services, expertise and resources to meet the specific requirements of a scientific organisation, their teams and projects. A versatile approach, FSP enables companies to outsource activities and functions to Synergy and trust in our scientific experts to deliver on these, whilst their own people focus on their core strategic science goals and objectives.

FSP can be a highly efficient and cost-effective solution for organisations who are working under tight deadlines and budget constraints, or simply require expertise that they may not have readily available within their own teams.

By engaging with our Synergy Scientific Functional Service Provision team, you gain access to a tailored, bespoke solution, aimed at resolving your onsite challenges. You can expect high standards of quality and compliance, health and safety, and technical excellence from our teams. The passion, dedication, and expertise of our team means we consistently deliver results for each one of our clients.

Most of our staff are on permanent contracts and we strive to upskill and cross-train our teams to ensure our customers always benefit from workforce stability and high engagement, as we strive to reduce the challenges of resourcing demands.
